I don't know why it is floppy but here are two diagrams. Looks like there may be a spring or something inside the plenum chamber. Good luck.

The 'slit' for the flat clip is inside the door, between the door and weatherstrip. It's thin but about 1 1/2 to 2 inches tall. Dennis in eastexas ...

Sedans and wagons locks are not connected to the locking mechanism like the hardtops and convertibles. The lock just slips in and out. _____ From:
