Back off the pivot bolt until the gears hold and that should so it. Don't forget to tighten the lock bolt after. Bernard ... From: ketchneddy

I've just installed bar end shifters on my 1000. The shifters function ok, but require a great deal of effort to move the shifters, (resistance at the lever)
