First, there was no version 1.0 firmware. I think you're looking at the boot version. Press the 3 key on power-up to see the versions your scanner has. There

On simulcast systems they use a special timing sequence to help offset Hetrodyne. That's when the same frequency, at different locations meet in the middle.
