I've just re-read the original request .Do you want the spanner size or the thread size/type ?.Most of the threads on BMC vehicles of the sixty's were UNF/UNC.

Can anyone tell me what size the nut is that holds the steering wheeel to the shaft on a MK1. I thought it was 1/2 inch fine thread, then I tried a 14 mm one.
