The Elder wand was supose to be the most powerful wand in existance. I am sure that Dumbledore could have used it to kill but he wasn't the type of person

... No I think there is some magic involved in them but they never bring those subjects into it. Hermione mentions Ancient Runes on POA but that is the closest

Runes are a distinct alphabet, just like the Cyrillic (Russian) or Greek alphabets. The runic alphabet in history was used to write various Germanic languages

Isn't runes arithmitic? Or am I mistaken? I would consider any scientific study mathematical considering the math and logic involved. And potions and alchemy
