I have obtained a blue print from Sparkman & Stephens for a new strut. At this time I am brazing the crack and then appling epoxy resin to the problem area.

you don't actually need the strut at all. A quick, cheap fix would involve cutting out the old strut, filling the giant hole and simply putting a cutlass
